G+_Marc Plagemann
Ok guys. Looking to set up a VPN using my old computer as a base computer which I will keep on at all times but I don't want to have another monitor since I already have a dual monitor setup on my main computer. What's the best way to link my old computer to one of my monitors so that I can access this tower when needed?

G+_dawn ahukanna
Get a monitor with both DVI + VGA inputs. Use one for main computer, the other for headless server machine.
G+_Corey Thompson
Use Pfsense or m0n0wall or ipcop as VPN server and use the https or ssh interface to VPN server
G+_Neil McDonald
Do you need physical access to it? You could just use something like remote desktop, VNC, TeamViewer or Logmein to control it remotely from the other computer.
G+_Corey Thompson
Or if you're using *nix, use remote X or VNC using Xvnc...Windows, use RDP or VNC for remote access to machine....OS X, use VNC to access desktop
G+_Craig LaBruno
Strange. My monitor has both DVI & VGA and my main Pc is connected through DVI so got a VGA cable and connected my other computer using VGA ports but when I click the input button on my monitor it just won't switch to the other PC

G+_Neil Sedlak
As far as remote goes, Chrome Remote us by far the best free option in my opinion.
