Technology done right.

This may actually work.

I came across an add in my gmail today that made click on it without hesitation, and after seeing what it was about, I actually liked it.

Albert Heijn is one of the bigger and more serious supermarkets around here. Over the pond, you might know it as Ahold. It is my local supermarket. I buy stuff from them every single week.

Recently, they renewed our Bonus card. That's something you scan at the checkout, and you get some prices reduced. This advertisement was from them.

When I went to the website, I saw among other things, all the recent products I purchased in the store. That's not surprising, given that I use the bonus card, so they know stuff about me.

What is surprising is that they recommend healthier alternatives to some of the products I bought. And no, the price difference between what I bought and what they suggest I should buy isn't big. In some cases, there is no price difference to speak of.

The other surprising thing is that they have a webstore. I can order online all the stuff I usually buy at the brick and mortar store, and they will deliver it to my door for... get ready for it... 99 cents!

Ideal for the busy people, for those who hate shopping or if you just don't feel like going out that day. So... will I use this?

Heck Yeah!

Well done Ahold.
