G+_George Kozi
Stickers! Stickers! Get your phone unlocking stickers right here! So... who thinks that people like to walk around with stickers stuck to their skin? I may be wrong, but IMHO, this is the perfect example of technology for the sake of technology, technology where the user is an afterthought. And another afterthought: how is this different from those sticker with an antenna in it things they put on clothing in shops so that people won't steal them? Only in this case, you are the cardigan... Originally shared by Peter G McDermott Sick of PINs and passwords? There's a temporary tattoo for that. G+_Jerry Ham
I have to say after my recent experience with NFCRing (http://nfcring.com/) on a Nexus 5, I doubt that these would work very well. The first problem I had is that there is no integration with the actual system lock screen. So you had to turn that off - or you got both your pattern unlock screen and then the NFCRing screen. Once you turn off the system lock screen, you can't answer calls without unlocking with the ring. Oh, you can - but you have to set a feature in the software that actually unlocks the phone when a call comes in (real secure there). You lose things like podcast audio controls on the lock screen, the ability to activate the camera without unlocking, etc. Also - and I can't stress this enough - you really have to fiddle around for 10 seconds or so to get the thing in the exact correct position in relation to the NFC in the phone in order to unlock. Maybe after weeks of use you would get faster - but it was extremely annoying. I ended up uninstalling it after 2 days as the hassle and the functionality and security loss were just not worth it. Now - maybe this product doesn't have those same failings. Maybe because they worked with Google they integrate as a plug-in to the system lock screen or something. But I would be wary.
