Dear Mi Fans, I’d like to share a piece of good news with all of you. In 2014, we have sold 61.12 million smartphones with a revenue of CNY74.3 billion before tax. That’s 227% and 135% growth respectively from the year before. This puts us at the top spot for smartphone manufacturer in China. We’ve also just raised US$1.1 billion funding at valuation of US$45 billion, which makes us the world’s most valuable tech start-up in the world. We wouldn’t have achieved so much without your support. Thank you all!

 

2014 is a year of important milestones for Xiaomi. We came from behind and became market leader in China. Almost all major players in the smartphone industry have conducted microscopic level study of our business model. We have faced, and will continue to face more intense competitions in the industry. However, we are determined to face the competition with the following priorities in mind.

 

1) Product and service. We have to consistently focus on product innovation, emphasize on being friends with our users, and strive to produce high-quality, high-performance devices with great user experience. Shortly we will unveil our next generation flagship device, which will again demonstrate our commitment to high-quality and high-performance. There's no better way to start 2015 with our latest product.

 

2) Ecosystem. Two years ago we started laying out our plans for building a strong ecosystem. We have invested in more than 20 companies building smart home appliance and smart wearables. This includes our strategic investment to Midea, a major home appliance maker, ZiMi, the most successful maker of mi power bank, HuaMi, maker of the most popular Mi Band, and others. We will continue to work with more partners to create a strong and open ecosystem moving forward.

 

3) Go global. We have successfully entered seven markets outside mainland China. In India, we sold over 1 million smartphones in less than five months. This year, we will enter even more overseas markets. We believe everyone in the world would appreciate the opportunity to enjoy technology innovation. Thus we remain fully committed to our global business.

 

Xiaomi has come a long way since we started from scratch in April 2010. Innovating through our products and our business model, we have created a miracle. From now onwards, every step we take is writing a new chapter in the history of the industry. We look forward to your continuous support in 2015.
