G+_George Linde
I remember this. I thought it was weird that out of all the rooms in the house, that I would want to be checking my mail in the kitchen. ... or maybe it was really for the appliances! Although I'd be afraid that my stove would send out saucy emails when I wasn't looking...
G+_Andrea Gatley
I had to set up a few of these things for customers, when I worked for a little ISP. Absolutely the most annoying setup ever. What a useless machine.
G+_Earnest Pettie
What those represented, then, are what we have now, liberation from the desktop PC. I still prefer the desktop for any kind of long-term computing projects, but for emails, you don't need to be chained to a desk.

G+_Jonathan Rose
I would say that while this device didnt catch on, the idea of sending an email from locations other than your desktop did catch on.
