G+_Greg “Shark” Rearick
Watching TNT right now and I'm trying to figure out why Leo built a $1M studio if the hosts are mostly Skyping in. (neither or Sarah and Tom are in studio) Leo has previously stated that he really needed hosts to be in the studio, but with Tom's move to LA it seems like we're back to the cottage days. I love TWiT, but it's makes for a better experience when the hosts are in house. JMHO...
G+_Anything KISS
There are still plenty of TWIT programs coming from the studio. But, if more of the Skyped sessions were of the quality of Tom's then the studio would not be needed.
G+_Alexa Krueger
I get what you're saying, but my understanding was the point behind the studio was to have more in house hosts along with more shows. I dunno, something seems 'off' at TWiT lately. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not enjoying watching as much as I used to.
G+_Alexa Krueger
Lou Gagliardi I'm not really making a mountain out of anything, just an observation. TWiT has always been a warts and all operation, Leo has made that apparent. That's fine. So as such, when the reasons stated for the studio are not being utilized, You have to wonder what's up. I think they are struggling with growing pains, just like any business. It happens. I own and run my own businesses as well, so I'm well aware of changing priorities. G+_Dan Phillips
Without the new space you wouldn't be able to do Before you Buy or Know How. Also Game On, while short lived, would have never happened. The new space also allows for more behind the scenes stuff so that they can improve the broadcast quality of the content. G+_walter perrault
I agree that is a waste of studio space and leos money that large studio space lost it's purpose all of a sudden

G+_dicom
I agree with the thought of in studio hosts as well. For instance, I really liked "This Week in Fun", but felt like the quality of the show started to fall off once they stopped doing the show from the Cottage. I say that, not to be negative, but rather as constructive input. *edit: spelling error?
G+_David Kropman
I agree, I prefer the shows when they in the studio together.
G+_Todd Dow
So let me toss out this ... Would you rather have NO Tom or Tom by Skype? I vote for keeping Tom via Skype. Tom has brought a lot to TWIT and I'll watch him live/inhouse or Skype. The mix of live/inhouse and Skype hosts mixes things up. It's about the content and the content provider not the medium ... G+_Mister Woot
I prefer the in studio product, but yes... Host on skype > no host, of this there can be no doubt.
G+_Aaron Sanchez
I can only imagine what I would do with a studio this beautiful for our show!
G+_Joel Reagan
I've seen just the opposite. Especially on Sunday, there have been more people in studio. Keep in mind that observation/screenshot is of Ihnatko (who's in Mass.) and Lindsay (who's always traveling). The new studio has done a lot for the network technically. G+_Alexa Krueger
Todd Dow TWiT needs Tom, he's the glue that hold the shows he's on together. I'd allow for Tom on Skype. Andy Inhatko is the other host who really is the most engaging.
G+_Geoff Robles
I think the point of TWiT, is to get the best people from anywhere in the world to discuss topics relevant to the tech community. Being "in studio" isn't as important if the content you are providing is the best.
G+_Eric Booth
I'm with you Alex. Seems like people just don't make the effort to come to the studio anymore. Still listen to shows but seems like it was money that could have been better spent.
G+_Rafael Marquez
It really does not matter to us. Leo and his crew are fantastic and we will always be loyal!
G+_Tim Allen
I rarely get to watch TNT, but I when I have watched since Tom left, I noticed that the set is no longer shown. I never saw the shelving or big red X behind Tom, nor the T shape of the desk--I guess that head seat remains empty. Whatever Tom has behind him in his home studio was so dark too... It all seems to negate the whole purpose of that particular set and makes TNT one of the most bland-looking shows on the network, in my opinion. That's unfortunate because it doesn't match the hosts personalities.
G+_EnriqueMaria HG (Dragon
I just hope they fix this soon, I really love the shows!
G+_Scott Shipp
IMHO I think the quality of the commentary and analysis is more important than hosts being in studio for shows like TNT. Show like Know How and BYB really benefit from the higher production values the studio makes possible.
