Heard Leo on Tech Guy talking with a caller about Straight Talk at Wal-Mart.  Leo didn't know much about it.  Without getting into to carriers and details, I have often seen their display in the store for unlimited talk, text, and data for 45.00 a month.  I also saw just now they have an option to buy a compatible SIM from them and BYOD.  Have no idea if you could BYOD your iPhone or other more sophisticated smart phone.

If you get a sim make sure it is for the correct carrier for your unlocked phone. The carriers they use are T-Mobile and AT&T.  The sim cards can only be purchased online and not in the retail stores. I paid 15 dollars for a sim compatible with AT&T and used it in an Unlocked Samsung Galaxy. There are some rules as they do not want you to tether (people do it anyways) and "Unlimited" basically means 2GB for AT&T and 5GB for T-Mobile. Seen it listed in some forums that they may try and restrict your usage if you use way too much.

You could also pay $130 for 3 months at a time and save an additional $20 each year or just pay $500 for the entire year and save $40 over the course of a year off their $45 monthly unlimited plan. I've been waiting to see how the Nexus 4 owners that choose Straight Talk are liking their setup. I tried a voice call on a Straight Talk off brand smartphone visiting Walmart a few months back and it sounded great. I wish I had checked out data on it but I was pressed for time and forgot to do so. ?
