The brick house is quite close to Napa. When my wife and I go the brick house for some web dev, we always do some wine touring. That's an obvious one, though. San Francisco itself has some amazing shops and restaurants. Cheese Factory is usually a hit. We're usually happy just to walk around and look at the shops. Just some ideas.

Definitely tour SF - take the double decker bus ride (if weather permits) over the Golden Gate Bridge and sit up top. Alcatraz is a favorite with kids which is located at Pier 39 (tourist area). I also have favorites in Sonoma County - Armstrong Redwoods is exceptional for hiking and horse back riding and Johnson's Beach is nearby.

Michael Battaglia Also checkout "House of Nan King" of Kearney street:  http://houseofnanking.net/ -- When you order, tell the waitress to "let the chef decide."  :)  You won't be disappointed.

Walk/Hike around the Presidio area!  AND, checkout some of the eateries and shops in the "Mission District"  -- If you like coffee, checkout "SightGlass Coffee", "Blue Bottle Coffee" and "Ritual Coffee"

I try to make a SF trip at least once a year... LUV IT THERE!
