G+_Michael Larini
What's the best TV for use with only a Roku or ?TV or similar device? I know there are a few rarely used standards for connecting and controlling devices and TVs (MHL maybe?), but I don't know what's what. I want one remote, one device (maybe two), and one TV. What's the best TV that allows me to do this?
G+_Chris Porter
Have you considered a TV with GoogleTV built into it? If you really want just one device and one remote, that may be the way to go. http://www.lg.com/us/lggoogletv/index.jsp#page=qanda What do you plan to watch? iTunes movie rentals or any and all video on websites? That may determine whether you'd be better with AppleTV or something like GoogleTV.
G+_Josh Johnson
Honestly...any TV that has HDMI inputs. You don't need anything special.
G+_Stuart Moore
Honestly, I think the best solution would be a universal remote without the number keys. I doubt there's a perfect solution.
G+_Chris Porter
What do you mean, Dennis D. McDonald? They all have only HDMI, don't they? Or do the cheaper ones have digital optical also?
G+_Chris Porter
Oh wow, that is new. Last year's model had nothing but HDMI, which I found really annoying. I'm glad they're at least making them compatible with older TVs again.
G+_Dan Phillips
Chris Porter I can confirm that the XS had composite on it. Their site shows that the XD does as well. At least here in Ontario. Stuart Moore As far as remotes...not sure how you can pull that off with a Roku. I personally use XBMC on my HTPC so I use a Harmony remote for the TV, HTPC, and receiver. Some media center program also have apps that let you control via Android or iOS.
