G+_Keith Newlander
I think it was in last week's episode someone (Kevin Marks?) mentioned a way of sharing a data connection between two devices that are linked via Bluetooth. What was the name of that technology and is it readily available or is it still in development?
G+_Alex Martin
OpenGarden. I use it with my Android phone and tablet. Have a look on the Play Store. :) ?
G+_A.J. Bobo
Alex Martin Thanks. How well does it work for you? Are you seeing any battery life issues?
G+_Alex Martin
A.J. Bobo Yes. It uses GPS to work out where you are and see if there's anyone nearby. It can sometimes leave the GPS running for hours. But I use a Tasker profile to turn GPS off when my screen is off. Some apps won't recognise its internet connection as they would WiFi. But Chrome works, and it's a lot more convenient than setting up a hotspot whenever my tablet is away from WiFi -- it just turns itself on.?
