I am a photographer, I started a squarespace site in February 2015. I like the squarespace platform a lot. However i have a problem with google search. When I type  my site name photos from the chair into google search no search results relevant to my site title and site name (photos from the chair) are returned.

If I type the full website adress  www.photosfromthechair.com i get multiple search results. I would like to have people search for my site by typing the site name. Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Are there any areas in SquareSpace for putting in detailed descriptions, or a site description?  Most site designs have META tags in which there is valuable information for spiders to use from various indexing services.  If there is a place to put a string of keywords, that's even better.

If SquareSpace requires a person to log in to see anything then none of the indexing services will be able to provide anything more than the pure address.  But if there is any place in the SquareSpace design environment where you can put a comprehensive description of the site for them to use with their index, then it will rank you up higher and allow them to see what you're doing.  I would be looking for places in each of the pages you build, or galleries you create to put a long paragraph about what the page contains as well as a string of relevant keywords to work with.  I would also include text in the page or gallery which reflects this hidden description and runs almost parallel to it.

I think there may even be a tutorial somewhere in SquareSpace's customer service area which helps explain how this is done.

Hope that helps.

Dave Trautman Thank you for your explanation. There is a place for a title and site description on each page ( I have written a description.) I will look into the meta tag issue. Yes, there is a tutorial, i will go through it again.

The Ottawa shots were taken in Fall 2013, with no polarizing filter. I shot them in Raw and post processed them in Adobe lightroom. Photography is a passion of mine, I am glad you like some of those photos. Ottawa is a beautiful city.

Again thank you for the advice.
