G+_Marlon Thompson
I felt it went off the rails too often, but as a great host Leo Laporte kept bringing it back, actually I stopped listening to the live show about 10 minutes before Baratunde Thurston said that they had lost the audience and I am now listening to the rest of the episode. G+_Richard Swift
Marlon Thompson I can understand that. For me that's part of what I enjoy in watching TWiT. Casual conversation about the week in tech. When Baratunde Thurston and Brian Brushwood are on the panel together the banter is fun to watch especially when it gets political. Sometimes I enjoy the off the rails back and forth.
G+_Marquese Howard
I also enjoyed the conversation between Baratunde Thurston and Brian Brushwood - it's great to hear sound opinions on different views. I watch TWiT for the various views and if I solely news facts I can watch TNT. I often get tired of the slated opinions on arguments, so it's great to hear diversity and opposing views. G+_Dave Trautman
Two younger guys and two older guys. What a combination. Fireworks ensue.
G+_John Tranter
I may have to go back and listen to it, I tend to skip the episodes with John C Dvorak in them
G+_Dave Trautman
James, near the beginning of the show John C explains how he got into the click-bait business and claims to have invented it. He has been working that angle his whole tech-writing career and is unapologetic because it paid so well. I have read enough "contrarians" in my time to not pass judgement on how they make their living. Brushwood was in good form taking the tech implications to a higher level. Most of the time I see him on TWiT he's elevating the scope of the news or discussion but sometimes he explores the conspiracy stuff with hilarious results. G+_Shane Simmons
You know, I don't think they'd have to build a Turing-complete bot to replace Dvorak. All they'd have to do is have a bot respond "That's crap" and "It's a scam" once in a while... I like the cranky old dude, though. The younger guys need to have Dvorak there pulling them back. The stats about 6 months of PC sales outselling the entire run of iPad was fascinating--on TWiT, the message tends to be that the PC is DEAD and that they've been REPLACED with tablets and phones. Hey, kids, won't it be fun using Excel on a phone? Won't it be fun typing on an on-screen keyboard?
G+_Kevin Johnson
I tend to prefer shows without JCD.
