G+_Mohsin Qazi
I just have to say that Christina Warren is one of the most knowledgeable, interesting, and fun people who cohost TWiT, and I'm glad that Leo seems to recognize this. Plus, while Jerry Pournelle can be very hit-or-miss, his contributions to the last TWiT were very good. I enjoyed the last one.
G+_Damian Mongru
Generally, Christina Warren is very good. However, the 'right to be forgotten' discussion just rehashed the old general arguments without attacking the main problem. For example, they used lots of first amendment arguments when discussing EU law, even though the right for media to publish on the web has not been taken away. Or that Google does remove links for example to do with copyright or spam. So where Google has to judge on the right to be forgotten it is an extension of the work they already do, and is part of a data controller's job. Saying they do not understand technology is a bit of a cheap shot. The main problems for me are that the guidelines for what needs to be removed are vague as to be unworkable. More importantly, is Google a data controller? Technically they may be, but I don't think the original definition should incorporate search engines. even the House of Lords understands: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jul/30/lords-right-to-be-forgotten-ruling-unworkable James White It is definitely a slow month for tech. I can't work out whether now is a good time to relase a product or not.
