G+_Donald E. “Don” Riley
Hey techy friends.... I have a friend who lives in a "Assisted Living Building". There is a door intercom system that is difficult for him to deal with. By the time he gets into his wheelchair and across the apartment, people have given up. I need to come up with a better solution. Could his wall mounted handset be replaced with a cordless phone? Any other ideas?
G+_Roger Killick
If the door intercom uses "telephone technology"; e.g. 48V loop, you might be able to use a standard cordless phone. See if it is plugged into a standard phone jack and try an ordinary phone. If not, contact the manufacturer and see if they can suggest a solution for your friend. G+_Donald E. “Don” Riley
David Garth-Owen I have Ring on my own house, and love it. That was my first thought. However his building has their own button system that wont allow Ring to be installed.
G+_Donald E. “Don” Riley
Roger Killick Thanks, I have a 30 year old cordless phone that I stored away (with the battery uninstalled) I am going to give it a try on my next visit.
G+_Ben Laakso
It depends if it's tied into the phone lines or a stand alone system.
