G+_Dino D Fantozzi
JCD is a bit brash on Leo's shows wherever I hear(d) him. Not a personality I enjoy listening to. And at the end of the day, it's Leo's playground he can let anyone in he wants as well as disallow anyone he wishes. Where I might agree with JCD, Leo does seem a bit knee jerky - seasonal firings, and almost killing live feed and chat room. I'm curious if it's Stockholm Syndrome-like working there. I'd be curious to know if he takes constructive criticism well. That said, I like his shows and it's by far the best network of shows out there. G+_John Kerr
In my opinion, Dvorak seemed to think that his past with Leo entitled him to play the role of the resident old fart, a role that was kind of entertaining for a while but was getting a little stale. TWIT does need to get some more new blood on some of their shows after they inexplicably lost (or perhaps pushed out) some of their younger hosts. G+_Zulhaimi Abdul Hamid
I was hoping that John would provide a more balanced opinion as I don't think it was as black and white as he put it. So this is disappointing. No Agenda gets new listeners every time John joins TWIT and were given the opportunity to promote it. So I was surprised when he did not discourage Adam from constantly making fun of TWIT after he was banned by Leo. On the other side, I always felt that Leo had a lot of respect for John; having started out in radio with him but I guess the discontent just boiled over after that last snide remark on twitter. Sad. Its like watching your dad fighting your favourite uncle.?
G+_Michael Leone
The last few times JCD was on TWiT, he would interrupt by playing sound effects, be shown to be paing no attention at all. Leo has a point, that is derailing the show.
G+_Raymond Larabee Jr.
Leo's network has gone off the deep end. I stopped listening to any of the shows well before this little feud came along. I can understand a little bit of preshow banter about the weeks news in tech, but when it starts being most of the show instead of what the show is suppose to be about. That's when I stop subscribing and turn to others in the field for my news.
G+_Tom Justtom
LoL my bet Robert is next. :-) steve is just too naive and dorky. The network is just lucky it sack in shallow water.
G+_David Pick
I'm sad to know John will no longer be involved with TWIT productions. I wasn't aware Brian Brushwood?? was already banned from TWIT. I can see John's dismay that he has been banned for repeating what was discussed on No Agenda on Twitter. However,John is not free of blame of this outcome as he incited it. And like Adam Curry??,doesn't stop No Agenda fans from being trolls when Leo fights back. But this really proves Leo still pays attention to Twitter and has no use for No Agenda views. John has a point it seemed like a knee jerk opinion from Leo to ban him. But more then likely Leo had been debating his decision made today for some time. I never know what pressures Leo is dealing with. But his opinion seems to vary from supporting everyone who makes a podcast to nobody exist who doesn't work for TWIT. Change is inevitable. I'm hoping Leo mentions something of why he banned John from TWIT on Sunday's episode.I'm still a fan of TWIT productions despite this change and will continue to be a fan. I've come to respect John's opinions over these last 10 years. I don't always agree with Adam and John's opinions on No Agenda. And I rarely listen to No Agenda for no other reason then each episode is over 3 hours and I have other things to do. However, I regard No Agenda far more to reveal untruths versus Alex Jones radio show of http://infowars.com. Whom I've had the misfortune of working around Truthers who highly regard Alex Jones Bull Crap .?
G+_Dennis Mix
John is the only one not a member of the cult of leo on the show. His politics are more down to earth and he sees the BS when it's premoted. If Leo has fired John this is the begining of the end of his network for me. Leo was just bragging on thate kid who disasembled a clock and put it in a case, seriously? We put all kinds of things in cases as kids and they worked, that did not lead to getting requests from MIT. Any idiot can disasemble a clock. This is what TWIT is becoming. I had to edit this after I read Johns tweet and I have to say I agree 100% with him. I always thought John was nessassary to keep Leos ego in check. G+_cody climer
I don't watch TWiT on Sundays very often anymore, but especially avoid when JCD would be on. The show is pretty free from and full of nonsequitors, but JCD seemed to be do his best to derail the shows even further. I did see him on a recent epeiosde where he showed up by surprise and even as tone deaf as I am, I could tell Leo was less than enthusiastic about him showing up. Yes Leo has an ego and yes he's impetuous, but I think that's what has allowed him to create TWiT. He usually will butt heads with those that lean far right or tend to towards some kind of denial. The fact that JCD was calling him out on the Ahmed story lines up as something that would royally piss him off. I get the feeling that things with JCD have been going down hill for a while and I was kind of waiting for something like this. I'm mildly amused by JCDs comment about Leo trying to hurt him by not inviting him on the show so he can get paid. I don't think he really understands why he's not going to get invited back. G+_Jeff Hubert
How sad is this. I've been watching Leo and John for about twenty years. John drove me crazy with some of the things he said. It took me years to figure he was just being a sh/t disturber. He really got me going sometimes. Leo has been a favorite of mine since the beginning of ZDTV. I may have broken federal laws up here in Canada by installing directv back in the day just to watch ZDTV and later techtv. I hate that this has occurred. Sure JCD can be annoying sometimes but so can Leo. It's there chemistry that makes me want to watch both of them. I've watched Twit since the beginning. Heck before the beginning. Leo could do no wrong in my eyes. I like Twit I've been there 3 times. It's been a important part of my life. More so than any other network. I want these guys to make up and get back together. A difference of opinion should not cause this. Let's all be more professional. It's Leo's playground but there must be room for everybody.
G+_David Pick
cody climer I can't claim myself to know what Leo or John is thinking about currently having each known each other for over 30 years. But Leo has identified himself as a bleeding Left Wing Liberal directly on the show. If your views are right wing or independent, that may cause conflict with Leo's views. I don't believe John is lying when he identifies and is registered as an independent voter.I relate to John also as an independent voter. I still remember John on the show remembering with a smile why he is permanently banned from all Apple Events. He was banned after writing an article immediately after Steve Jobs was fired in 1985 titled "Steve Jobs fired,Good Riddance". His stance was Apple was better off without him then with him at the time. That story explains allot why John is so calm about this recent turn of events. He knows when a bridge has been burned and moves on. Sadly I knew this day would come.I just didn't know until it happened what was the insult that was to much. This is still a cautionary tale of the relevance and power Twitter still has with people.
G+_Tim Cheseborough
Whether you like John C Dvorak or not, Leo Laporte is one of most unprofessional people in media. Is there any person who has left TWiT that he hasn't bad mouthed? I remember when TWiT was something special, tech news for those of us who actually understood it. I watched it deteriorate into less tech and more entertainment. Now is nothing more than a jumble of shows with no clear direction or purpose. The best shows disappear in a blink because Leo throws a tantrum and fires the host. There will always be listeners, but I'm willing to bet few are still left from the beginning. G+_Robert Strickland
I stopped listening to the TWIT network a long time ago. It's mostly sensationalized BS now. I left TWIT when Tom Merritt did. I did hear part of a recent TWIG episode. The way Jeff Jarvis was going on about Donald Trump, I thought I'd stumbled across a left wing political show. Not a show that is supposed to be about tech. JCD called it right as far as I'm concerned. I might add that I am a huge No Agenda fan :-).
G+_jamie kuester
Wow, JCD was and still is awesome. Leo wth, very childish.
G+_Timothy Strehle
Bye Twit, John was one of the few reasons I watched the show. Typical liberal response to silence those they disagree with. Glad I got to see Leo's true colors.
G+_Michael Leone
You could see this coming. Rnember a fewbmonths ago, when JCD was put in the "penalty box" for a few weeks, because he kept disrupting TWiT with his antics? And when he showed up unexpectedly a few weeks back, he rarely added anything, he was mostly playing on his phone, and adding snarky responses, very little tech content. While JCD is known for snarky, it has to be wrapped around tech content. Basically, I'm saying that there is blame on both sides, altho I do think Leo did overreact. G+_daniel ethan hopley
all the comments posted thus far have been based on feeling. Leo and JCD are the only ones that know the facts. G+_Brian Gilbert (Ned Jaco
Tom Wisniewski Shwood was fired because of shenanigans related to the NSFW show that he did with Justin Robert Young, I'm pretty sure.
G+_Tom Wisniewski
I also have to agree with dvorak about how there is too much repeating of the same stories on multiple shows. Gets a little annoying. I can understand wanting opinions of multiple guests but eventually the topic has had enough coverage.
G+_Joshua “Wizdum” Burgess
If I wanted to watch a channel where everyone thinks the same way, and people with differing opinions are banned, I'd watch Fox News. Am disappoint.
G+_Michael Leone
Supposedly (and this is from memories of things mentioned in passing) Leo said that shwood and JRY were badmouthing Lisa, and Leo just cut all ties. "Dead to me" was the term,i think. Might as well have been a religious shunning. Remember, tho, Leo had a big feud with Jason Calacanis for a couple years, but Jason eventually came back to TWiT, and even guest-hosted. And Leo and JCD go back decades. So who knows how long this will last.?
