G+_Rud Dog
Was watching a movie last night when it came to a grinding halt and proudly displayed a notice telling me the bandwidth was insufficient to continue watching the content. It gave me two options from the "Do you wish to continue: Yes or No. Now this never ever happens on Comcast delivered media only on Amazon and Netflix. Can't help feeling suspicious and if it might be tied to the net neutrality ruling?
G+_John Saunders
A few missing details. Are you using Comcast as an isp to stream the video in question? If that is true, you are aware of bandwidth caps that Comcast has in place? Currently there is nothing against Comcast not limiting their "in house content", but can place limits on traffic that is beyond their POPs. G+_Rud Dog
This was video over cable. Interesting didn't know they could limit, would be nice if they had a system similar to the data usage on your cell phone allowing you to be aware of bandwidth usage. G+_John Saunders
Can't answer that question, I happily do not use Comcast. I use the only provider in my area that does not have bandwidth caps, which I have no problem with. Just to clarify, when you say video over cable, meaning watching a channel on a cable box? Or streaming Netflix/Amazon material over the Internet? ?
G+_John Kerr
John Saunders that is one of the main tenets of net neutrality - that all content, regardless of source, be treated the same. This means that Comcast can't treat their own content differently.
