G+_Trevor Lewis Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 At about the 90 minute mark on Twit 413, Mike Elgan said he was not certain why some companies offer free traffic on mobile devices when using certain services. (In the context of the show it was Google's free traffic of Gmail and other Google services in India.) I get such SMS ads all the time here in Russia as different companies are making deals with mobile providers. The latest tariff plan Super MTS offers free mobile traffic to Facebook, VKontakte, and a few other social services. I think the reason why is obvious: keep you in their silo.
