G+_Bill Malizia
I feel like I've been freed! I removed Norton Internet Security from the last of my PCs that was running it last night, and will live naked to the cyber-world from now on! I thumb my nose at viruses and malware! Techno-nudity is so liberating...
G+_Dave Trautman
Interesting experiment. Have you looked at your firewall log recently to see if there have been attempts on your machines? Do you have a recovery plan should something sneak in? I applaud your liberation. But freedom requires vigilance too.
G+_Larry Smoak
I do check the firewall log on occasion (probably not as often as I should...), including last night while taking NIS off this last machine and I seem to be fine in that regard. I plan to continue practicing "safe surfing," running Chrome and avoiding Flash and Java.
G+_Mike Trieu (MegasChara)
The web is a cold mistress when you can't run Flash and, to a lesser extent, Java. Breaks a lot of sites you wouldn't think would rely on those technologies so heavily. Web devs really need to get with the HTML5 program =P
G+_Eric Shoe
Don't run as admin.
G+_Eric Shoe
Just for fun, remove the router from the mix, plug the modem directly to your Ethernet port. That's a test!
G+_Eric Shoe
Make a backup image and party on.,
G+_Larry Smoak
Way ahead of you - backups made, and already running as limited user, with a separate admin account for setup when necessary. Ooo-Rah!
G+_Nicholas Koecheler
It boggles my mind how Symantec is still in business with that pile of fail.
G+_Posi X Mosh
People still run "anti-virus" software? I though the anti-virus industry was actually just performance art.
