G+_Jimmy H
I was listening to the discussion about Google glass in TWiT Episode 404 and have a couple thoughts and questions about glass being right eye only. The first is has anyone that is left eye dominant tried glass and does it work well for them? There can definitely be issues with focal depth on the non-dominant eye. This is very well known in the shooting sports community as you need to look through a rifle scope with your dominant eye. People with left eye dominance either need to use an awkward position or special left handed equipment so they can use their dominant eye. The second question is would the lack of a left hand model be an ADA compliance issue considering that they are unusable by people who do not have vision in their right eye. As a design issue would glass be better/look better if it was a balanced design using the extra space on the left side of the unit for additional battery capacity. i.e. battery and electronics in the right side and more battery in the left side. G+_James Garcia (Jim)
This is a common technique used to determine your dominant eye. http://www.wikihow.com/Determine-Your-Dominant-Eye
G+_Joe Morrison
http://www.wikihow.com/Determine-Your-Dominant-Eye This is a quick and dirty test, but is still reasonably accurate and repeatable.
G+_Andrew Mair
I suspect they have been trying to create a unit which is easily attached to your regular glasses - if both arms were used that might be more difficult to achieve. For me, its the prism which makes the unit hard to make aesthetically pleasing. I'm sure they have been trying alternatives but I guess this was the best available at the moment.
