G+_Tim Davis
I'm loving my Note 2, but after playing with a co-worker's HTC One, I'm awfully tempted to switch. Has anyone on here compared them both to see if it's worth the switch to lose the battery life on the Note 2?
G+_George Castro
I also have the Note 2 but could never go to a phone with no battery access or Micro SD card. Those were my 2 reasons for skipping the Nexus 4 after always going Nexus since Nexus 1, and why i will next get the SG4 with stock in june

G+_Tim Davis
George Castro I hear you, but my fear with the Google Edition SGS4 is the lack of IR blaster functionality and a crippled camera. I've been less than impressed with non-stock hardware. A non-removable battery is a con for sure, but if I have at least 32 GB internal, I can make do without an SD card. The screen and build quality on the One are incredible.
G+_Fred Elfeline
Why are you tempted to switch? There's been a lot of promo about how great the HTC one is. Yet as Leo Laporte has said many times, battery life is a huge minus. There's a reason HTC took "Screen" off the list of battery suckers. And I just don't get the excitement over how the HTC One (or iPhone) feel in the hand. It is fiscal insanity not to sheath your $650 phone in a protective case. I've always had my expensive phones in cases. Maybe because I buy out of contract and know just how expensive they are. What I feel on any of the three phones I currently own (Nexus One, Note 1, Galaxy Note) isn't the phone---but a silicone jelly case from Amzer (about $10) which protects the phone from drops, and is "sticky" enough so it doesn't slip out of my hand, while slipping off so I can change the batteries very easily---which I do when I'm "on the road" and can't keep them plugged in to a charger at my desk. Very handy.
G+_CJ Fedalizo
I remember someone in the GN2 community making the switch to the HTC One and then regretting it afterwards, the post should be here still. If I recall correctly, he mentioned that the battery life is one of the reasons.
G+_Tim Davis
Good points. But the build quality does make it feel quite solid. But if the battery life is that much worse, I might just stick with the Note 2.
G+_George Castro
Once I got over the weight issue which makes it feel like a cheap build i was fine.. never had issue with Nexus S or Galaxy Nexus or Note 2. The Nexus 1 wa just one of those perfectly weighted phones that will for ever be what I compare to other hones when i first hold them...it just felt right :)
G+_Mike Jakel
I'd have a hard time leaving the note mainly due to the multiview feature that Samsung puts on it. Love having two apps open at the same time.
G+_Tim Davis
Mike Jakel It's a nifty feature, as is the S-Pen, but I mainly like the Note due to the large screen and battery. I find I don't use Multi-Window and the S-Pen that often.
G+_George Castro
I agree the pen stays in the phone to the point I forget its there, plus multi window barely if not ever get used.
G+_Mike Jakel
I find the battery life horrible.....however I fixed that with 6 extra batteries and two external chargers. My big problem is I like the screen at full brightness sucks the battery real quick.
G+_George Castro
I also am rocking 4 batteries but get by on one per day and can just switch to another if dont have time to recharge when i get home. So 2 batts should cover a day use ...for me.
G+_James Wright-Roberts
Tim Davis I'm the same, whenI got my note 2 I really thought I was going to use the S pen loads but as it turns out I hardly use it. That said I don't think i could go back to a smaller screen after having the note 2 for a while. Its interesting that when i first got it I nearly sent it back because I thought it was comically large!
