What does Pocket do that Evernote does not?

Apples and oranges in my opinion.  I use both. Pocket's focus is on being a centralized place to keep internet content that you want to read later.  Articles are cleared when you check them off, and they also focus on readability of your saved articles within the app (removing ads, clutter, etc.).  Evernote is for keeping and remembering lots of different kinds of content, including things that you yourself create/capture.  I would never remember go back into Evernote to read a saved article because of all the other stuff I have there.

That makes sense. I have had several people tell me that I need to use pocket. I put everything into Evernote and I like only having one app to manage. For a while I was testing online storage apps and stuff stored everywhere. It was a nightmare. So now I am more of a minimalist. I just wanted to make sure that I was not overlooking something really cool with Pocket. I have a folder in my Evernote that I call "Everything that I Snatched From the Web". I go in on the weekends and catch the folder up. I read the web clipping then decide to keep or trash.

Thanks for all the input.

I had this same discussion with myself. No, I don't hear voices, I just like to ponder :p The conclusion we came up with is that Pocket is my Temp folder for stuff I'm going to get to soon and dispose of. Evernote is my archive of stuff I need to remember. Maybe it is just because I like both apps, but utilizing them this way serves me very well and I love both apps.
