G+_Mike Flanagan
Quick question if I buy the nexus 5 through the play store will Sprint activate it? Sorry if this was covered.
G+_Roy Delgado
Yes. Confirmed. http://www.androidcentral.com/yes-you-can-buy-nexus-5-google-play-and-activate-it-sprint
G+_Andreas Harder
A company spokesperson tells us that customers will have no problem activating devices purchased from Google on its network. http://goo.gl/M1uMzI

G+_Rocky Martinez
Wow that is pretty sweet! Wonder if it will work with the bring your own phone feature of Ting. Not that im interested. Sprint's network where I am is pretty horrible. But that would still be pretty cool.
G+_Mike Flanagan
Can't see why not.
G+_Lucas Nichols
Sprint doesn't use gsm. They won't have a Sim card to put in it. I guess their lte network may work with it. But you wouldn't be able to use it on their 3g cdma network.
G+_Mike Flanagan
Well that would be rather dumb
G+_Roy Delgado
The activation they do at Sprint is the full activation. They will register your device for the CDMA network, AND give you a SIM card for the LTE. Your device will do both.
G+_Lucas Nichols
So the nexus 5 has cdma radios?
G+_Lucas Nichols
http://phandroid.com/2013/11/01/nexus-5-kitkat-round-up/ This article claims it will work. I'm just confused. I thought "cdma radios" were a hardware spec not a software feature. That's why the nexus 4 couldn't be used on sprint. If it was as simple as just designing a program you'd think it would have already been done. I don't get it.
G+_Lucas Nichols
This article says there will be a version available for sprint although they aren't sure if one device will work on both types of networks or if you have to order a special version for sprint. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/10/29/the-nexus-5-will-be-available-on-sprint-according-to-evleaks/

G+_Roy Delgado
From the Play Store listing. " Network 2G/3G/4G LTE GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10 WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19 LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41" Link https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_black_32gb
