G+_David Simmons
Have already contacted Google customer service and will contact my bank. But I wanted to see if anyone had run into this issue. This morning I noticed that my bank account had the following charges from a GOOGLE* Funzio Inc. There where five charges for a total of $200. Two of them at 79.99 USD. Has anyone run into this issue? Does anyone know who they are? Never made the purchases so I am starting to check on fraud and hacked account, but want more info so I can look into it with my bank.

G+_Nick Webster
That doesn't sound right. I'd say fraud.
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
I've never seen that either. Glad you caught it!
G+_Wade Shields
A quick Google search of Funzio Inc shows they are a mobile game developer of games like Modern War, Crime City, and others. They were recently acquired by Gree. The fact it says GOOGLE* before Funzio on your back statement means it was a purchase from the app store or Google Wallet online. Those charges are pretty high for Play Store purchases even through an in app purchase. If you have any credit cards set up in your Google Wallet account, my guess is that your GW account was used online to purchase a physical copy of one of their games. I'd reset my Google password if I was you and also setup 2-step auth. Good luck getting that money back.
G+_Erik Carlos Toren
The strange part is that the charges don't appear on the Google Wallet statement.
G+_Erik Carlos Toren
I have already sent the fraud form to Google. Disconnect the credit card from GW. Using now the 2-step verification process. Contacting my bank on Monday. Changed my pw so hopefully that will prevent future abuse and fraud. G+_Erik Carlos Toren
Thanks for all the advice. I'll pursue the matter, but I'm resigned to not seeing that money back.
G+_Kent Smith
My wife had a situation a few years ago where some Facebook app she paid onetime for started doing repeat billings similar to this. When I called BofA they immediately knew what company I was talking about and reversed the charges. This type of thing has become a popular type of fraud because you can do lower transaction amounts and a lot of people will never catch them. G+_Jerry Ham
Erik Carlos Toren Don't be resigned to not seeing the money back. If it was fraud, you won't have to pay it. Fraud on credit cards happens all the time and (at least in the US) is the fault of the payment industry for keeping it so insecure and expecting us to keep "secret" a number that they make us give to everyone. I've recently had over $1,300 charged to my card in rupees for some plane flight originating in India. Of course I've never been there. You just call the issuer and dispute the charge letting them know it is fraud. They have you sign a form and they send you a new card with a new number. The charge will be taken off of your account. They do a rudimentary investigation, but since fraud is so prevalent on cards it isn't usually much.
G+_Brian Bishop
If it's fraud you deny the charges directly with your credit card holder and you will get your money back. You don't need to do anything with Google at all.
G+_Erik Carlos Toren
It's tru my debit card which is tied directly to my bank account. Monday I'll have my meeting with the bank and see how it goes.
G+_Margaret Richardson
Debit cards don't have the same protections that credits cards have. With credit cards you have to dispute the charge within 30 days. Most of the time you get it removed unless the business refutes your dispute. Fraudsters generally don't respond. Unfortunately debit cards your at the bank's mercy. They may require you goto the police to file a identity theft. You will soon find out how good your bank is. Good luck
G+_Erik Carlos Toren
Update (Feb. 28, 2013) - Thanks for all the advice. Went to my bank. Processed paperwork. So far did manage to get the two $79.99 USD charges taken away. The smaller charges are still pending. Lesson learned. Have the two-step check. Added PIN to my purchase. Took away the account from Google Wallet and added a card that limits purchases.
G+_Margaret Richardson
George Fromtulsa sadly you don't have the same rights. Read the fine print. That's why it pays to have a good bank or credit union. It's moments like this you find out how good your bank is. I've seen this scenario play out many times before and it's always amazes me how badly banks behave.
G+_Erik Carlos Toren
I have seen Google Play cards at my local Radio Shack. I will see if I can use them with GW.
