G+_Darryl Medley
Mark Smith's (Ep. 41's guest) description of the difference between "coding" and "software development" should be posted in every college class room. In my 2 1/1 years of classes back in the early 80's all I learned was coding but after 30 years as a pro coder I think the the other parts, design, management, etc., are more important. For me, writing the code is usually the easy part. Knowing exactly what to code - getting a good description of the project from the client, managing a specifications list, etc. - is usually the hard part but these topics were totally ignored by the classes I had. I'd like to know if others out there have a similar experience.
G+_LeMar Longhurst
I agree , after a number of years working with poorly written accounting software , it would be a good thing if the coders knew what the software was supposed to do in the house
