G+_Charlie Cangialosi
Hi; I really enjoy the show. Keep it coming. I have an NFC question. I know Ron is lukewarm on NFC based on some of his observations. Mine is set up properly as far as I can tell. I have gone to two locations and both times my card was declined. In one place two cards were declined. I have a $0 balance on the cards so it is not a funds issue. I use both cards elsewhere and never have a problem. In fact one is used on Amazon all of the time. The only think I can think of is that my phone is rooted, no mods, it is stock. I have the "Unsupported Device" error on the top of the app when I open it. Could this be causing the problem? Others have been able to use NFC and I would like to as well. Thanks in advance. Charlie Cangialosi
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Charlie Cangialosi, Rooting is not the problem. I have been using Google Wallet for a long time, and I've always been rooted. That warning just absolves Google from any legal recourse if someone steals your credit card info via their app. Make sure the cashier uses the payment type of "Credit". Other than that, I'm not sure what it could be. Good luck!
G+_Phill Wiggin
Charlie Cangialosi I have had issues with some POS terminals in stores. My best luck has been with gas pumps (at Sheetz, for instance). What is the actual error message that you get when it fails? ?
G+_Charlie Cangialosi
It was getting declined. It is not a funding issue $0 balance on the card. I deleted all the cards and added one that had not been on there before. I told the cashier it was credit and it worked today. It was probably a combination of things going wrong. G+_Phill Wiggin
Most of the "solutions" I've found say: "remove all cards and clear the app's cache." Really sucks when you have to do that several times a week. Mine's been behaving lately. (knock on wood) Here's to hoping you won't need that advice! Good luck! G+_Charlie Cangialosi
Thanks, I will keep that in mind. It sounds like a big pain to have to do that. It is like having my current ISP and having to restart the router all of the time.
