G+_cody climer
I'm on Ting with a galaxy nexus. I love having pure android, but my nexus is getting a little long in the tooth. I'm looking to get a new (to me) phone and looking at gazelle's eBay store I see some great phones are dropping below $150. The choices are: 1. Galaxy S 3 2. EVO 4G lte 3. Occasionally the Optimus G Which do y'all think is a good choice? The main things I need are media playback like pockcast, and play music, reasonable camera and battery life. Gaming isn't a big deal and I never turn on LTE.
G+_Brenden Sharp
I've had my Galaxy S 3 for a year and I'm still very happy with it.
G+_Shawn McGuire
Out of those options, S3 for sure.
G+_John af Petersens (King
S3, still very happy with mine.
G+_Lucas Nichols
The s3 probably has the best reviews. I had the gnex too. Got my gf the s3 last year. Made my gnex look like a turd. Lol. Plus the s3 will let you surf and talk at the same time on 3g. Not many phones can do that. As for pure android though, you are out of luck unless you want to root. G+_Dan Delaney
No Nexus 4 at that price on gazelle? Considering their start price I'd be surprised.
G+_Dan Delaney
Wow, that surprises me. In that case, of those 3 options I'd agree on the S3.
G+_Alex Curtis
Nexus 5 should run on Sprint so you may be able to bring it to Ting?
G+_Lucas Nichols
The n4 won't run on ting/sprint. It's a cdma network.
G+_cody climer
I've been tempted to switch to a GSM phone, but sprint phones are so absurdly cheap and my ting bill is so low, I just can't justify the cost of switching.
G+_Lucas Nichols
I would switch to ting if I could afford it. But I am never around wifi and I use around 30gigs of data a month. So I'm stuck with sprints unlimited plan for now. I just hope they get their 4glte working soon. I'm a truck driver and I can tell they are making a huge coverage area. Unfortunately for me all that means is that my data network is crippled all over the country. Being stuck over night I an area that they are upgrading is a nightmare. Either no data at all of constantly switching between 3g and 4g. I've considered getting a prepaid phone that works on Verizons network for the next 6mo or so. Just to wait it out. But can't justify spending another $45 a month on top of my sprint bill.
G+_cody climer
Coverage might be an issue especially if he goes West of the Mississippi. T-Mobile coverage drops pretty sharply there
G+_Lucas Nichols
I tried tmobile with my nexus 7. No thanks. Their coverage isn't any better than sprints in most places.
G+_Hector Sotomayor
Im a sprint customer and HATE THEM and understand ting using their towers correct? How is it do you like it for your tablet if i wanted to use it as a portable register how do you thing it would work>
G+_cody climer
Ting works well if you're usage is low. I have 2 lines averaging less than 500 mins, 2000 texts & 1GB all together, and my bill avgs to $50 month. I occasionally tether my tablet, but rarely. The coverage for my area is reasonable, but not as consistent as Verizon or AT&T. If you want to use lots of data or sprint coverage doesn't work for you, Ting may not be the best option.
