G+_Nathan K
Hey everyone. I have an old Droid Incredible. I formatted it and I want to use it as a media player (not a phone). It's on Verizon and is unrooted. When I power it up it won't give me the option to just use it as a small device. It wants me to activate it on my service, which I don't want to do. What do I do to make this phone just be a Wifi media device. I want to use it for my son's room for music and white noise. Love the show and the community and of course ANDROID! G+_TJ Evans
ISTR that if you swipe your fingers around the edge of the screen (3 or 4 corners) it will skip activation ... (I had to do this for my old Droid and Droid2)
G+_Happy Fuzzy
I have never heard of that....Best thing to do is to NOT remove your email from the phone. I remember that happening to me with my old Samsung Fascinate. I changed back to it for a week, used a new Gmail account just for that phone and then switched back to my newer phone. shrug Didn't cost me anything and it worked. It's now my car's media player. G+_Seth Goldstein
David Essex I did a complete format so the email is not on the phone.
G+_Seth Goldstein
so the swiping round the corners did nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
G+_Happy Fuzzy
Right. I know you did that. I was just expressing how I did the same thing and recovered it back. I wiped mine as well and now have it back to use as a media player.
G+_TJ Evans
Start top left, go clockwise; ref: http://m.androidcentral.com/bypass-activation-screen-your-android-device Should work just fine!?
G+_Aaron Kimmins
Go thru till you get to the activate. Hit activate, end immediately. Do this for our five times. Then it will skip activation
