For $239 you don't really expect too much in the way of cameras for a tablet.  I wasn't expecting anything awesome from the new Nexus 7 cameras. I was pleasantly with the video I got when testing the cameras. 

 

The front facing camera didn't yeild an incredible video, but it isn't really designed to do so. Its main purpose is strictly to provide a camera for conferencing and hangouts. The Rear facing camera on the other hand impressed for sure. I got a clear 1080p video. The video was a bit shaky but was otherwise pretty good quality. Check out my test videos below.
