Thanks, Jason!  I'd actually submitted the question last year at some point (although I can't remember if it was on the air or I asked directly), and Jason H. said he expected to see things cropping up at Google IO and some of the other shows coming up.

I still see so many things touting how they're iOS compatible, which is all well and good, but it seems a bit sill there's not more emphasis on Android by this point.  The thing I hear the most about Android compatibility is Ford Sync (which would be the choice if I was getting a new car instead of a new stereo).

While Bluetooth is a good step, I hardly count that as "Android" integrations, since it works with ANY device that also support Bluetooth.

I would call it integrated when you can download apps into the stereo, Like Sonza, Pandora, or AmazonMP3 and with a "mi-fi" like device or phone paring (maybe even vie NFC) have internet radio streaming on your can.

In a way I think Ford is the closest to this, but I'm not sure what other maker are doing. I know of Ford from the shows.

Jason Howell, Ron Richards, Gina Trapani, Chad Johnson, & Tony Hannides

Thanks so much for the discussion this episode on Android's presence in Car Audio.  It sounds like there's still no real simple solution like the iOS crowd gets, so I'm following Gina's lead and going cassette adapter (for now).  Gina, look for those at Radio Shack, I think they're your best bet.

I can say, an Aux in seems like a far less complicated system than something that has its own special app store.  How much good is that thing gonna do me if I can't listen to my TWiT Live Stream?  I mean, c'mon, people!  ;-)
