G+_Marlon Thompson
What is Android Just felt like ranting a bit, not sure if its coherent Last week when the discussion went to the comparisons between iOS 7 and other platforms, Gina Trapani loved the fact that the brightness slider was going to be available right there on the mission control and lamented the fact that in Android it was two taps away. I however have had the brightness slider right in the notification panel of the most popular Android smartphone series the Galaxy series for a while now, doesn't that count isn't it Android. Airdrop seemed to me as a prettied up version of Wi-Fi direct, that Samsung started supporting on their phones with the Galaxy S2 and it was available on the Galaxy Nexus. It wasn't a widely touted feature because frankly sharing pictures and files is one of the easiest things to do on Android, but it was there for more than 2 years. Granted the implementation on iOS looks nice but they need it and theoretically you should be able to share with non iOS devices, if not then that is really unfortunate. I also have issue with the its good for consumers. Apple made a big deal about their slide to unlock patent and lawsuits were filed, now on iOS 7 you can slide to unlock from anywhere on the phone. So what was the big deal. I would say its good for consumers when we don't fight about the small stuff, when we acknowledge it is okay to look at how someone has implemented something and you give it a go, where we license patents in a fair manner, where you don't co-opt standards and make it propitiatory. Can't we just all get along /End of Line
G+_Marlon Thompson
Yeah Holly M. Paddock I know but that is what I find so limiting with their conversations sometimes, the fact of the matter like it or not, Samsung phones are way more popular than Nexus phones. So and I know I am being a bit controversial here but by the very nature that the most popular version of Android is Samsung's version doesn't that make it Android and shouldn't that be acknowledged when they were doing the comparisons? G+_Michael Conrad
I think because they host a show dedicated to Android they feel like stock Android/Nexus is the best bet. So, Gina wasn't thinking of the Galaxy line when doing comparisons between ios7 and Android. As for what Android is, it's anything running Android. I have a PSP Chinese knock-off for playing emulators that runs ICS. I'm going to pop on a custom ROM more suited to this particular device so it runs better. That's the beauty of Android - it's opens up so many options that ios7 just isn't built for.

G+_Ricky Cash
They could solve this little problem by inviting some of the real Android guys from Android Central and Android Police and the like more often. As much as I love AAA we have to admit that Android is not their full time jobs. They are fans and users and can't just sit and play with Android devices all day long.
