G+_Marlon Thompson
What i'll be playing all week Thanks to Vector Unit my productivity this week is going to be shot to hell with the release of Riptide GP2. The first Riptide was notable because it highlighted the power of Tegra 2 tablets, GP2's purpose is to highlight the awesomeness that is the Google Play services. Looking at the graphics and polish of this app I am still amazed that is only 46M. The water effects are so cool that they even appear to splash onto the screen. The controls are fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed playing it on my Galaxy S3. You have the choice of tilt or touch controls and there is also support for gamepads like the Moga. There is a great career mode that has a nice variety of courses and events as well as new hydro jets for you to obtain, experience levels to climb and crazy tricks to learn. Needless to say I drained my battery last night. The Google Play services are in full effect here. Achievements...check, cloud sync so you can pick up where you left off on another device...check. Online multiplayer even with iOS users...check. The great thing about the online multiplayer is that you can invite your friends or let the game pick up to 3 random opponents and I experienced virtually no lag even with my wonky wifi connection. Also Vector Unit is saying that they have even more content coming in a blog post and you see a nice coming soon panel in the game. I quickly want to address the in app purchases. In no way did I feel compelled to do any IAP as you can progress easily enough without it. In fact I felt that the pricing structure they have is very reasonable and they only reason you would want to use it is if you wanted to get the other hydro jets that much faster. So don't let that dissuade you from picking it up. So all in all this is a fantastic game and I highly recommend it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vectorunit.red #riptidegp2 #Vectorunit https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vectorunit.red
G+_Jim Jackson (J3xtr)
Anyone else notice that the play store does have the app labled for multi player?
G+_Tom Gehrke
I also made the buy. As a huge fan of Jet Moto and Jet Moto 2, how could I not?
G+_Tom Gehrke
Jim Jackson I did. And it lets you log in with your Google Play account to invite people to a multiplayer match. Wonder if this is tying in the game center like features they showed off at IO.
