G+_Marlon Thompson
No I do not want a keyboard on my Wrist I got into a bit of a fight today in the comments of JR Raphael post where he expressed his simple disgust with the announcement that Miniuum will be launching a keyboard for Android Wear. Phil Nickinson however put it best "Miniuum on Android Wear is not about typing on a Smartwatch. Its about advertising for a $3.99 Android Keyboard." A smartwatch is not a phone, Google actually has guidelines that suggest this type of app is not suitable for Android Wear https://developer.android.com/design/wear/creative-vision.html. If you want to send short messages from your watch and you don't want to use voice (which in my interactions has worked really well), then clamour for an app that acts like a notification hub for your messaging apps and has the option to reply by voice or short prepared messages that you can send straight from the watch.. Hey look an app idea. When and if apple launches their smartwatch you can bet they will have very clear guidelines what type of apps can be developed for it and the first apps will be awesome. I just want devs on Android to focus on awesome apps as well and not quick gimmicks. https://developer.android.com/design/wear/creative-vision.html
