G+_Marlon Thompson
Random Question but would appreciate an answer Ok not an Android question but I trust the people in here and I know we have some video producers in here. I am looking for recommendations for a computer to buy for my cousin who has shown real aptitude for video production. He uses adobe premiere, and has moved from hobbyist to really perfecting his craft and looking at doing it as his chosen profession. Jason Howell if you can chime in as well that would be great. Don't neglect to make a recommendation on price as my other cousins want to purchase it collectively. He has been using a Windows based computer, but should I get one from that other company Thanks in advance guys.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Chromebook FTW! ;-) I'm not actually sure. Either way, it doesn't really matter. For video production, you really only need two key components: CPU and GPU. Everything else is gravy (though extra RAM can't hurt).
G+_Jason Howell (raygun01)
Joseph Cappellino Agreed. I couldn't help with cost or anything, but really, as for software, they all accomplish the same thing, in different ways. Which speaks to you? I'm super proficient in FCP 7 (totally outdated at this point) and dread the fact that TWiT is switching to Adobe Premiere cause I'm not as fast in it, but in due time, I'm sure I'll be fine there too. The FCP approach speaks to me more than Adobe's, but then again, I've spent so much time on FCP so no duh. Premiere is on PC and Mac so that's a plus. Learn on one, and you can still use it on another OS. Wish I had better insight for you than this. Not sure if it helps much.
G+_Marlon Thompson
Actually it does Jason Howell he feels comfortable working on the PC so I think we will get a nice rig for him. I assume you use a desktop
G+_Jason Howell (raygun01)
Marlon Thompson Primarily a desktop, yes. For video editing, it's hard for me to work efficiently on one monitor.
