G+_Wade Shields
Has anyone noticed that ever since the last Google+ update this past weekend, their data usage from it shot up? I initially thought it was due to instant upload settings being reset to use mobile data, but that was the same. Any theories on what may be going on? G+_Ryan Standeven
Mine looks nothing like that :-P is been a steady climb toward 500mb and well under 1GB
G+_Alexander Maxham
I just did a factory reset on my N4 on Monday, so I'm not seeing a ton of data for Google+ app. But i'll keep an eye on it.
G+_Jason Bunselmeyer
Mine looks nothing like that either. My Auto Backup settings match the screen shot and my data usage for Google+ is under 50MB at the moment.
G+_Alejandro Rubio
Nothing like mine ether. Try clean out the g+ app under app settings. Hold the home button and find the &+ app then hold down until you see app info click on it and it will take you to the settings once there clear out the cache and data. And post back. G+_Wade Shields
I've been trying to think about whether I did something that day (26th), but I can't figure it out.
G+_Wade Shields
Clearing cache & app data dies no immediate change to yhe current data usage. Just makes me go through the initial G+ app setup and configure all my settings again. Thanks for that by the way :-p
G+_Elias Mårtenson
My G+ used 1.17 GB in the last 12 days.
G+_Ryan Standeven
Could out be a setting on the web site? Like... I noticed my g plus had "upload photos at full size" unselected
G+_Wade Shields
I'll check the website settings later. Instant Upload (now Backup) at full size shouldn't affect it when it is only uploading via wifi.
G+_Joe Jones
I have had the same issue and have Backup currently disabled. Still has used over 2 GB in 9 days on mobile. Wi-Fi is worse, 9.3 GB (9.25 GB in Background). Good thing still on unlimited data.
G+_Wade Shields
Brian Woods the graph is ALL data, however if you look below the graph, it shows my specific G+ data usage. Never been that high! Shouldn't be that high. Wifi is over 8GB used just for G+
G+_Steve LeMoine
Mine hasn't gone up. Maybe try going into Google sync settings and turn off Google Photos and Google+ sync, then reboot and turn them back on again
G+_Wade Shields
I submitted a feedback report from the app. I'll follow up here IF they respond.

G+_Wade Shields
Gotta be a bug in the app. Hopefully enough people will report it that they find and fix it quickly.
G+_Keith McCaffery
Mine was also high last week.
G+_tobby
1.5GB from G+ within a few minutes/hours: Theory 1 It's likely the phone left WiFi coverage during the initial photo backup. Take a look at the Wi-Fi usage for the same day. Theory 2 You could have watched 10 minutes of 1080p video someone posted to G+ while on the go. G+_its_the_wick
I had the same problem last month. Go to data, click on G+, and tick restrict background data. Worked for me :)
G+_Paul Houghton
Happened to me I sussed out it was data downloading to phone when screen goes off. It so happens that wifi turns it self off and reverts to HSPDA+ so uses mobile data when sleeping. I had to go into settings and turn on Wifi always on now my usage as gone down to normal. Think it changed on my S3 because of power saving mode on.
G+_Wade Shields
tobby olupot I'm leaning towards theory 1. My wifi usage that day shot up slightly, but not like mobile data did. I've used over 24GB of wifi data this month also, with G+ taking the top spot at 9GB. That's a full 2GB higher than Pocketcasts, where I download 6 video podcasts a week. G+ should not be that high all of the sudden. I just don't understand what is causing the high amount of data being used. Thanks David Buse The point is that I shouldn't have to restrict background data for the G+ app when my settings are to upload over wifi only. I think it was a one time bug after the update. It leveled of after 1 day. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced it (and I can see they did) and hear hear theories. We'll see how next months data goes. Paul Houghton Thanks, but my wifi sleep policy remains unchanged. ?
