I took some heat a couple of weeks ago for saying that I wanted less of the apple watch talk on AAA. However on this weeks TWIT I heard 2 of the guests making the same point I was trying to make. The apple watch does not compete with Android wear, and the amount sold is more of a reflection of Apple's ability to convince their fans to buy an expensive accessory rather than the state of the wearable market.

Jon Edge?, I certainly understand the sentiment, but at the same time, Android doesn't exist in a vacuum, so it's important to understand how competing products impact Android. For those of us that follow many TWiT shows, it may seem worse, since we get a healthy dose of Apple news from the other programs already. Still, they can't presume everyone does that.

Ted Cannelongo I thick that's it in a nutshell. Tech journalism is so much in Apple's pocket that we get bombarded by meaningless Apple stories all the time. I saw The Verge post an Apple photo gallery story claiming they did it to counter news of the S6 release lol.

Personally I don't mind the Apple talk on AAA because I think it gets put into it's proper context, unlike on some other TWIT shows especially when certain guests are on.

In short, of rather hear about the Apples and the Androids from my folks at home than to hear it out on the street from tech journo hoodlums.

But why on a show that is called ALL about ANDROID do we have to compare everything to apple? I expect that on the other TWIT shows, it makes sense.  Do the hosts feel like they need to make excuses for android?  Because you don't.  Just stick to the android strengths unapologetically. You don't need to convince us.

The Verge is a poor example here, though, as they are competing with the Wall Street Journal to be Apple's leaker/chief fanboi of choice.

I see it from both sides as well, being a journalist - yes, you've got to give both sides of the argument, but sometimes we seem to hear a massive amount about Apple.

OTOH, Miriam doesn't bother to pretend to be rational/objective when HTC enters the discussion, rendering her VERY suspect as a news source as well, so it's not just Apple we hear overmuch about.

Ted Cannelongo? I completely agree with your point. Your scenario isn't exactly what I'm talking about though. I've noticed lately there have been a couple (few) of times, mostly guests, when someone mentions an iPhone and what they are really saying is cell phone. It irritates me when people's default for "cell phone" is to call it an iPhone, especially on a show called All About Android!?
