G+_Marlon Thompson
And with the announcement for project fi I could imagine Jason Howell at his computer trying to sign up being all like ... #pixelpushing
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Except, it was really only two mouse clicks (and a five-digit zip) [1]. [1] - Provided you're logged in via your Gmail account (not Google Apps).
G+_Marlon Thompson
Jason Howell would have included a 1000 word essay saying why he should get it first Joseph Cappellino :)

G+_Alexander Mielchen (MiL
It is kinda expansive in my opinion. 20$ for the base fi plus data 10$/GB. No contact is nice though. I am from Europe so I have different experiences anyway and cannot use fi. But compared to my Vodafone contact is very expensive, and there is no data only plan on fi. I don't need unlimited text or calls, i never text or call anyway, all i need is cheap data. My Vodafone contact is like this: no phone, no included minutes or texts. Vodafone to Vodafone is free everything, 1,5GB Data for 15€ in case i need to sent a text it's 3 cent and calls are super cheap as well. So in case i have to call and text, my bill goes up to like 16/17€. Fi would be interesting for the global data feature, it's slow internet, but it's internet. Vodafone tries to sell me 50MB for 3.99€/day when abroad, even within Europe!? At least text and calls are the same rate abroad as in my home network. I have a mifi for traveling and always get a local data only prepaid sim.?
G+_Jason Howell (raygun01)
It's not "cheap" but I actually think it has the potential to be pretty damn competitive. If indeed there is an abundance of supported Wifi aps to hop onto, you might not use nearly as much mobile data as people expect. Driving the cost down to who knows how low. I reserve judgement until I can use it for a month in my area to see if its expensive or not. And "expensive" might actually totally depend on WiFi in the area. So some regions will not benefit but others (likely places like SF) could end up being dirt cheap.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Jason Howell - Yeah, here on LI, there are Optimum WiFi hotspots (one of the main ISPs) pretty much almost everywhere, including along my drive to work. So, this might actually reduce my data usage by a lot. That being said, I have found that bouncing around those hotspots is not very reliable (especially while commuting). But, maybe the special radio in the N6 manipulates the hand-offs better.
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
Things worth having do cost money. But as I posted in a different thread, what I will save over my current Verizon bill is substantial, and I expect having 2 networks to be comparable to Verizon. I don't know about that yet really of course, but I look forward to finding out! :D This will be one long 30 day period of waiting. Almost like waiting for the Mac Pro, but not quite. And the other stuff you get with this program... auto encryption over free Wi-Fi, credit back... That's just WOW. Love it. :)
G+_L I
Stupid question: who in the US sells data-only prepaid Sims here? Or would you have to buy a sim-locked device like a mifi?
