G+_Marlon Thompson
Wot I think Originally shared by Marlon Thompson A few interesting things I noted about today's Keynote. It ran at a breakneck pace. Google didn't waste any time on any one section moving quickly from one to the other to give a tight presentation that lasted just over an hour. It was connected. Google's message was everything we do is connected and they demonstrated this by having each section run on to the next naturally, after they showed off the phone they said, and how will you buy it, which lead into the Google store, what is the best way to see your photos which went into chromecast. Google continued to position itself as an everything company. They went after Apple. I mean they really went after Apple. When was the last time you saw Google do a direct comparison of their Nexus device to Apple.... Never. While I would like to have some one on one time with the camera to see if their boasts about image quality holds up it was great to see them spend so much time on the camera and telling the story of what makes the camera great. The 5X is also interesting even though a lot of people are dismissing it. Don't compare it to the Moto G, instead compare it to the Moto X and you will see that its actually a good phone for the money. Google Services are awesome. Google again used the opportunity to showcase why they will always lead apple in services, from Google on tap to the improvements in photos. Chromecast is awesome. There is no doubt that the chromecast remains the best $35 you can spend for a device. The additions today just further emphasised that fact.Getting this is a no brainer, in fact i'll take two. We can do hardware. Google is a software and web services company, they are not a hardware company yet we have the pixel C. And lets not ignore the fact that the Pixel C was developed and designed in house. I repeat again Google is not a hardware company. So where is this beautiful device coming from? This is another product I will love to get my hands on even though I have my doubts about the tablet market Diversity, yeah we have that covered. Seeing a diverse set of presenters is now commonplace at Google presentations that it has moved to the realm of expected, which is a good place to be. More work still has to be done at the employee level, but Google is leading the way in ticking off this box at the executive level. All in all I thought it was a great keynote, but I'm a fanboy. :)
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Spot on! I really liked the digs/comparisons to Apple. Also, I pre-ordered the N5X, as that's the size I prefer.
