G+_Marlon Thompson
Jerry Hilderbrand on the last Android Central podcast gave a different take on security on the blackberry Priv and it launching with 5.1.1. First off Blackberry has put a lot of work on security and has had enough time to optimize their software for lollipop. We all know what happened when OEM’s like Motorola and LG rushed their Lollipop upgrade. Jerry also pointed out that more importantly Blackberry has committed to pushing out the monthly security update as well as any update Google pushes out and the Priv already got the November update. Since Blackberry only has one phone they are in a good position to honor this pledge. And I would prefer a phone that has last year’s OS with the latest security update than the reverse. Let Blackberry take their time to get their marshmallow update right for Spring and keep focusing on security in the interim.
G+_Jason Howell (raygun01)
Yeah we failed to mention the monthly updates AND the fact that BB is bypassing carriers with their updates.
G+_L I
Bypassing carriers? Whoa that is big. Could this be a model for other manufacturers?
