G+_Marlon Thompson
How I feel about the bottom navigation bar I have seen a lot of post between yesterday and today about this addition to Android's design guidelines. Many seem to hate it. I am not a designer so while my feelings cannot be guided by that but...I'm ...ok with it. Now many will disagree but after reading the actual guideline as well as reading the explanations of its use from devs and designers, I think that when used correctly nothing is wrong with it. Also we should point out that these are just guidelines and all apps are not suddenly going to have bottom navigation bars in all our apps, I do believe however that designers should have all the tools at their disposal to make compelling well designed apps that offer a consistent performance. Now I have heard many people say that Android is starting to look too much like ios but this is just a cosmetic argument and one that scratches the surface of what the intention of the guidelines are about. What are your thoughts? And Jason Howell I hope you discuss it as well tonight
G+_Kenny “KitkatRai” Rouss
It's also fair to say the people are generally pretty resistant to any change, and the fact that it tends to remove an old feature, swiping between layouts, which is where most of the backlash is coming from, people not liking that an older feature is removed, but they tend to direct the anger towards the process itself
