Hopefully of interest,

 

MWR Labs recently found a pretty scary set of bugs in a lot of ad network software which gives command execution on the device if you can hijack traffic (like via a fake access point);

 

I did a write-up on it and have released an app which attempts to mitigate some of the impact of this & similar attacks by trying to intelligently control when your Wi-Fi is enabled.
