G+_Reginald Rodgers
I'm looking for some suggestions.I want a Windows based program that replicates the iTunes media syncing experience/capabilities for Android devices. I want to be able to manage the offline media synced to my devices. I have and use iTunes to manage media to the iDevices in our household but have been manually picking and choosing and copying and pasting media to my Android devices which is cumbersome. As I transition away from the Apple products I want to ditch iTunes as well.
G+_jani koskela
For effortless syncing/updating en masse: rsync, or a gui solution using rsync as a backend?. I don't know about purpose-made media library management software for windog since I don't use it, but let's see what others will suggest.
G+_Chris Clark
DoubleTwist used to be an iTunes clone for Android, but I don't know if it exists anymore. I just uploaded all my music to Google Play Music and then downloaded the Google Music Manager to watch the folders I keep music in and auto upload when I add new music to those folders. Works great and its all in the cloud so it doesn't take up storage. You can then download for offline playback using the Play Music app on the phone. You can upload several thousand songs for free and it works great.
G+_Nathan Gugliotti
Chris Clark? I too use Google play music as you describe. If I recall correctly (which I may not be) I believe the syncing still requires me to choose each song. I'll have to look and see if a playlist option exists. Either way, this only solves half the problem. I'm looking for a solution that includes both music and videos.
G+_Nathan Gugliotti
jani koskela I will look into this suggestion, certainly not something I have previously heard of.

G+_Chris Clark
Nathan Gugliotti I'm not sure what you mean by choosing each song. To upload you can choose entire folders, and for downloading for offline playback, you can do it by song, by artist, album or play list. For videos I usually either use Google Photos or I upload them to YouTube and make them private to avoid copyright problems and then watch them from there. G+_Nathan Gugliotti
Chris Clark thanks, I found the options for download for albums and playlists, seems to work well. I'm not sure uploading to YouTube or Google photos a good option for me but thanks again for the suggestion.

G+_Nathan Gugliotti
Tim Smith and Andrew Uschold?, thanks for the suggestion, I'll give Media Monkey a try. I know I used it several years ago, forgot it existed.
G+_Rob Saw
Chris Clark? Yeah, Doubletwist came to my mind too - it was a perfect itunes clone, including all of the bugs and memory leaks :)
