G+_Robert T
I decided to do a full wipe (including SD) last night to see if my occasional lock ups go away. It's driving me nuts that I can't figure out what icon went in this hole on my home screen. Why doesn't Android restore home screens when it restores everything else? G+_Neil Callender
That is why I use Nova Launcher as my homescreen launcher. You can backup your homescreen and just restore them after a wipe. Most other third party launchers have that feature also.
G+_Tim Davis
Or you can always take a screenshot of your home screens and use that to compare.
G+_Jeff Larkin
Neil Callender Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about that feature. I suppose I really should blame trebuchet rather than android for the lack of home screen back-up. Tim Davis Yep, I've done that before, but forgot to this time. =)
G+_Michael Watmough
MybackupPro also backs up home screen layouts, but not widgets if I recall.
G+_Brad Whitfield
When you think about it, there is a reason Google doesn't back it up. There are so many different launchers, it would be difficult to restore all of the data. And if you went from something with sense to something with vanilla, it would be difficult to restore your home screen.
