G+_Troy Luchterhand
So does Verizon support the nexus 5? If not, does anyone know if they are going to be getting it or if they are going to be supporting it?
G+_All About Android
Pretty sure the N5 isn't going to visit Verizon. Current N5s don't support the network. Maybe LG releases another Verizon compatible version of it down the line but I highly doubt it.
G+_Troy Luchterhand
Did they give any hint as to what that might be?
G+_Andrew Thompson
I believe it supports their LTE network, but not the CDMA frequencies (so no 3G). Verizon is supposedly working with Google for "projects" in 2014. Either way I'm probably switching off early next year.
G+_TJ Evans
Verizon Wireless bungled initial deployment & support for the original Nexus, so I don't expect to see another one. One of the reasons I took my four data plans away from VZW, and went all T-Mobile ...
G+_john attard (9MM_Panda)
The Nexus 5 has radios for Sprint T Mobile and AT&T Verizon Wireless is not supported
G+_Rafael Valentín
Verizon thinks they do not need Nexus devices. The want to sell their own.
G+_Jerry Ham
Verizon does not accept any devices that aren't full of their crapware (no unlocked devices on their CDMA). After the debacle with the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus (over 6 months to get updates), Google isn't offering them a Nexus device again. They made a mistake letting Verizon crapware up the Galaxy Nexus and have learned not to deal with VZW.
G+_mike kershaw
Verizon allows unlocked devices (for example you can buy developer model hardware from several vendors like Samsung and Motorola) however generally only the developer editions of models announced for that carrier. You also won't be able to get any subsidy discount, but if you want an unlocked device running aosp or cyanogen you can get the developer s4 or moto x However the nexus 5 is not coming to Verizon since it does not support the right lte frequencies plus political reasons.
