G+_Emorej “Backtrax” Salif
Not an Android specific topic, but has anyone else that uses Google Music Manager noticed that it seems to take ownership of all your available internet bandwidth when it's uploading? I spent 30 minutes on the phone with my ISP's tech support, trying to understand why my internet had slowed to a crawl before it occurred to me to shut down every intermet related app on my PC. I propose an interesting experiment: Let Google Music Manager begin uploading music (max allowed bandwidth does not seem to matter) and then pause it. Go to speedtest and start it up. Unpause Google Music from uploading in the middle of the test and watch the bar graph on Speedtest's web site. If you look at the picture attached, that huge dip is what happened when I unpaused Google Music Manager during the Speedtest. Basically, while GMM is attempting to upload, my internet is completely unusable. I am just curious if anyone else has experienced this.
G+_Travis Staples
Yep. I've had the exact same experience with +Google's music manager on my iMac running 10.9. Once it's finished, I'm back in business.
G+_Damion Noel
I had a similar experience so I only ran it overnight.
G+_Brandt Geiger
We don't have good upload speeds unless you have a special internet connection like Google Fiber. People never did much uploading. So all they sold people on was download speeds. Plus our old system can't handle much data. We need more fiber data like Google fiber. G+_Brian Sargent
I could watch Netflix and upload at the same time - other stuff was slower though.
G+_Jason Turner
There is an option in the software to limit upload speeds :)
G+_James Dowmont
yea, I mentioned that the upload cap doesn't matter in my post :-) ?
G+_Jason Turner
Speedtest is unreliable at best... use resource monitor to properly view bandwidth being consumed by the process
