G+_Ken H
Is anyone else seeing this in Google Now where it always says "not sure how to help with XXX" while performing a voice command during Google Maps Navigation? This is a newer thing that started in Google Now (or Google App) and it used to work (all in the background while Navigating which is nice) but now it's not working. Here's one example. I navigate and then while driving I say "OK Google, send a Hangouts Message to my wife". It replies with "What's the message?". I say my message and then it replies with "Not sure how to help with that". Oh and it works without issue if I'm just using Google Now outside of navigating. G+_Joseph Cappellino
I actually tried that the other day. I rarely use Google Maps for navigation, but I was using Waze at the time. Very interesting.
G+_Paul Werner
Joseph Cappellino Yeah it may be just a special function with Google Maps but I'm not sure if the Waze navigation lets you do it while keeping the map on top of everything while it speaks to you. If you can try that out sometime to see if you get the same in Google Maps that would be cool. Even if just to know I'm not the only one
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Paul Werner It doesn't keep the map on top, but it's still running behind it (you can see it on the edges).
G+_Paul Werner
Oh ok, yeah when you are navigating with Google Maps it keeps Maps up front and you get a lower case G in the notification bar as you are doing the voice command. Once it's complete or errors that G goes away. Still not sure why this stopped working though
G+_Paul Werner
Jason Howell, not sure if you can bring this question up on the next show but I can't find the answer anywhere online
