G+_gregg nichols
Question: how do I control the volume/notification for a specific app when that app doesn't let me? The ESPN Scorecenter app doesn't let me change the tone of it's notification sound (the ESPN theme) or even turn it on or off. If I want notifications, I either have to live with the sound or mute my whole phone. Is there an app that will squash the sound for this one app or change the tone? I still want to get the notifications, just not hear them.
G+_Cameron McDermott
well, I'll try and help you. if you go to the | settings > apps | page and look up the app in particular, like the ESPN app, you should be able to remove the those notifications from popping up. I'm looking up some apps that are able to help you manage notifications and sounds if that above method does not work. =)
G+_Matt Maher
Cameron McDermott I'm aware of that setting, but that's not what I'm looking for. That's to turn off notifications for an app entirely. I just want to turn off the SOUND for the notifications. If I could either change the sound to the default sound or mute them I would be happy, but there are no options whatsoever! My guess is that they've done absolutely no work to cater to the Android platform. As such, those sound notifications that would normally be handled in the general settings screen on iOS are completely absent, and they're not bothering to do any additional work for us Android users. I'm really sick of that mindset, especially in this case, where it should be an easy change.
G+_Cameron McDermott
I see what you mean now. It is really hard to find something that can change individual app sounds. Its careless application design and that's a shame to see. I hope someone can give you more help on this. :/
G+_Matt Maher
You're so right. It really seems like they put the least amount of effort into a port that they possibly could. Ugh. Thanks for your replies, though!
G+_Chris Quinn
Try Lite Flow Lite out. Not sure if it works with that app. Try the free version first. Might be what you are looking for! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
G+_Matt Maher
I've been using Lite Flow for a couple years, and that would normally be a good suggestion, but unfortunately Lite Flow only works if you're able to mute the notification sound within the app :(
G+_Chris Quinn
Theres got to be a way to do this with Tasker and some other app like Ringleader Pro but it looks like that app is no longer being updated. Check it out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handyandy.ringleader.pro&hl=en Also, this is kind of old as well but check it out. https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/tasker/SmtuqLTkzIY
