I got tired of waiting for the OTA (Kit Kat) for my Nexus 7 2013, so I broke down and decided to sideload last Sunday, just 2 days ago. I'm just getting ready to turn in for the night and I'm greeted with this update. I've heard nothing about an incremental update for the Nexus 7 beyond the 4.4 that's supposed to be rolling out right now. This one is small, just under 4mb. But it certainly caught me off guard.

Anyone else get this small update yet after already receiving 4.4?

I had sideloaded the update previously, upon receiving this update it errored, then on reboot rebuild the ART cache and then everything immediately crashed.

Fortunately, 16S factory image is available from google at the usual spot.

To recover without losing everything (if this hits anyone else), download the factory image, unzip the image-razor-krt16s.zip file, then:

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot flash cache cache.img

This is all the install script does - except it also installs userdata.zip, which erases your user partition.

Personally, i'd reboot at least once with fully stock, THEN reboot into fastboot again and re-install a custom recovery and root, just to make sure everything is as it should be.
