G+_David Dennis
A little late this week but I finally listened to the last episode where you mentioned stage fright. Not sure if anybody talked about this but the sms app Textra has a setting to protect users...
G+_john ferris
Would you happen to know the version this is available on, and you may want to check you photos before posting, as you phone number is in there.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
From what I've heard, there is only so much apps can do to prevent the bug (I haven't read it in much detail yet), as it's a framework issue.
G+_L I
Yeah is this protection just basically the same as not background processing MMS images or is it also manipulating the image in some way?
G+_Simon Zarife
john ferris thanks for the heads up on the number... That's a good way to get stagefright. This is version 3.1 of Textra. I believe this is similar to not background processing mms, but I'm not sure. Here is the description from the change log, doesn't add much info : "IMPORTANT: Protection from Stagefright! Video messages can contain an exploit called Stagefright that can harm your phone. Textra SMS protects by ensuring new video messages can not automatically run the exploit." G+_L I
"cannot automatically run" - sounds like no preprocessing
