G+_MicroHex
Has anyone else with the new Google keyboard update noticed how much worse the swype input has gotten? I've been a swiper for my entire Android life, and now I'm going to have to go back to using swiftkey. Anyone?
G+_Mohsin Qazi
SwiftKey is so much better
G+_Michael Atkinson
I've noticed that over the last few weeks myself. Getting worse and worse.
G+_Daniel Cook
I have found it better, not sure why.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
I've been using Swiftkey until the recent update. The swiping has been working well for me on the Google keyboard, but I think I like Swiftkey better, especially punctuation and next word prediction without first hitting space. G+_Ben Foote
I can't seem to get the Google keyboard to NOT autocorrect words that aren't in the dictionary. I'm a programmer by profession, so I type a lot of words that arent in the dictionary. I've switched to SwiftKey, and so far so good. ?
G+_L I
Ben Foote there used to be a way to do that but I can't remember what I did to make it work
G+_Ben Foote
Exactly...used to be. Disabling it in the settings has NO effect. And another update: my Google keyboard got STUCK IN CAPS LOCK MODE. Even minimizing and bringing the keyboard back wouldn't fix it. I had to reboot. Keep in mind, this is on a Play Store Nexus 5X. Not some off brand phone. Google should really be ashamed of this 'upgrade.'
G+_L I
Figured it out (if it's the same issue as mine) - it's not in the keyboard settings, it's the spell checker toggle under Settings - Language and Input.
