G+_Werner Habel
Michael Simpkins thx for the interesting read! I wonder, if a Moto neXus would too much alienate other manufacturers to Google/Android . My personal bet: a refreshed Nexus 4 2013, just as with the Nexus 7 and probably also just as successfull. G+_Michael Simpkins
Werner Habel You're quite welcomed and thanks for the kind words. You bring up good point and that's probably why Google has been trying to show publicly, that Motorola is not getting in preferred treatment. Might be right on the refresh...how much can you do with a stock device, devoid a new OS, except change the look.
G+_Nicholas Layton
I don't understand why people are calling the next Nexus phone "Nexus 5". I guess they don't understand what the number in "Nexus 4" means. It's the size of the screen. Just like Nexus 7, and just like Nexus 10. Everyone calling it Nexus 5 is retarded. What would the next one after that be called? Nexus 6? and then Nexus 7 after that? So they'd have a phone and a tablet both called Nexus 7? Yeah, right. G+_Michael Simpkins
Nicholas Layton Good point, but that's what the masses are calling it because nothing other than it's coming and Motorola may make has been rumored. Also, the Nexus line of phones may not make it to 6 or 7, there's a thought that Google will bail on the phone market leaving it to others. Remember, we heard quite some time ago about Google's desire to have 5 Google phones made by 5 different manufacturers. They'll have Motorola in the back pocket at least for the foreseeable bear future. Just a few thoughts....
G+_Nicholas Layton
If they want phones made by 5 different manufacturers then there is going to have to be a 6th Nexus because Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus were both made by Samsung. There are currently only 3 manufacturers that have made Nexus phones (HTC, Samsung, & LG), if Motorola makes the next one that would be the 4th. G+_Michael Simpkins
True, I think it's safe to add Sony to the mix. I'm sure that if another strong maker rears, Google would open the door. I'm not sure if LG will partake down the road, they supposedly bailed on this upcoming Nexus, why the Motorola rumors loom.
G+_Nicholas Layton
I don't really think Sony has any interest in making a Nexus. They seem to like gaming phones and would want to do weird things with preloaded software that should never be on a Nexus. I could see Asus making a Nexus phone before Sony. G+_Michael Simpkins
Lol...hadn't thought in that aspect. But were Sony to make a Google phone, it'd be devoid that bloat etc...
G+_Dave Bach
I thought they'd call it a Nexus 5 because LG is gonna be making it one sweet 5 inch phone.
G+_Michael Simpkins
Dave Bach So much unknown right now. LG out, Moto in, like Moto X, not like Moto X, Google Edition yes or no....
